Yahoo buying tumblr, I'm not too fussed really. Working in the online space, it's naive to assume successful sites like tumblr isn't going to monetise at some point. Tumblr hires 170 staff, with overheads and bandwidth costs… and at the heart of all business, is money. If anything, I'm rather glad it's Yahoo to be honest, than Google or Facebook - as the latter two are so globally dominant that it's refreshing to have some competition.
But if it's anything that tumblr likes doing, it's whining. So…? Inevitable.
